After the lacklustre performance against the other Woodley side in this division,
we thought as the lads were up for this one maybe we might see a better match.
This was not to be although the result was the one we needed.
Hammers have always began games at 100 miles an hour in the past and were no different today.
We conceded the goal very early and it is just unfortunate that the error was on our part.
After the ball fell loose it was knocked in from close range.
As the half went on it was clear that some lads were off form as we could not string together a number of passes and some went astray.
Eventually, the equaliser came, courtesy of AJ.
Chasing a bouncing through ball that a defender and Hammers 'keeper could not work out who was responsible for clearing,
AJ somehow found a gap to knock the ball into an empty net.
After the break, just as we would make some changes, AJ added another.
He found himself with only the 'keeper to beat and did so low to the right which squeezed in close to the post.
After a number of corners and other chances we still needed a third goal.
Time was running out when Luke F was fouled inside the area.
The referee judged it to be outside however so we had to be content with a free kick.
Even so, this would not make too much difference as AJ stepped up to score although a deflection probably helped the bell past the 'keeper.
A very good result which puts us level with our opponents before we meet again next week and Wndsor had a day off so it may well be down to waiting for results elsewhere over the coming weeks.
