Under 17s - Match Report 01/05/2010
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Reeves Rangers
Result: Won 4 - 1

Playing against these opponents of old has provided us with a few problems in the past. Though Reeves had their one and only win chalked off due to Whitegrove folding a team, they managed to draw during the week against Ascot. This was a warning we needed to take notice of.

We started slowly, maybe the early start took effect, as did Reeves. Until that is, we conceded a goal yet again. Too many times this season, the odd goal against has been a frustration when we should be keeping clean sheets. Again a soft one where no one seemed to challenge before it was too late. That said, we responded rapidly when Oli scored from close range and then from a scramble after a corner, Man of the Match Ross scored with a low header, also from extremely close range. The way we came back quickly showed we at least found some character from somewhere.

Leading at the break gave us breathing space and hopefully time to regroup and attempt to get some goals. We took our time but pressure eventually told. AJ ended up one on one to finish and scored another from just inside the box after a superb ball in from Taylor.

Not a brilliant display but we have ended the season well after a hard new year. Finishing 5th is not bad either after promotion last season. No complaints to be had and overall an enjoyable season. Well done lads.
