One of those days, who knows.
We were weakened a little without Myles for this match but after 15 minutes I would not have realised.
Ells capitalised on a defensive slip as he received a cross on the right and smashed his shot home for his first of the season.
Changes were made with only eleven available for this match and Ells playing upfront seemed to be a good move.
However, things soon changed unfortunately.
Whether you play 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 or any formation, if you don't close down or challenge in any position you will be punished.
This was to be how the match would be won and lost.
Charlie did his best and at time his inexperience told, but he could not be blamed for some of the goals.
It was as though Twyford were cutting through us like a knife through butter at times.
Challenges have to be made or at the very least we have to get in the way of the player with the ball to prevent the killer pass or the long range effort.
Being 6-1 down at half time was not good and even though the lads changed to a back four it made little difference.
We closed our opponents down much more during the second half which allowed us to play some football at the end of the match.
AJ added another to his record for the season after an excellent foray forward from Alex S.
Next week we have the chance to correct this freak result as we will be back to full strength.
Learning is a fact of life and this was a harsh lesson for us today.
We need to forget this one and return the favour as we know we can because Twyford man for man are no better a team than us.
Their forwards and midfield worked well together but the defensive frailties we exposed twice.
Hard work and quality tackling will be the order of the day next week.
Special mention to Man of the Match Taylor who fell ill during the first half but played on and did really well for the 90 minutes.
Excellent commitment to the cause.
