After a couple of "iffy" performances and a change of formation we went back to our normal methods this week.
For long periods it paid off and it looked as though we would get a result.
However, Yateley had other ideas.
Most of the posession was enjoyed by the team in blue for the best part of the first 45.
The midfield of Fozzie, David, George, Oli and Ells was effective most of the time.
Ells was to come off early due to a moped accident injury, but James doing an excellent job once on.
Perhaps a few more challenges in the middle would have prevented the two first half goals which made our lives difficult.
That said, AJ, partnered again up front by Charlie, scored from seemingly an impossible angle to take his tally so far to 12.
Myles had an unusual off day but the defence have a little room for improvement in the forthcoming weeks.
2-1 down at the break was not an impossible position so all we needed to do was continue in the same vein.
Somehow, with a foot no one realised he had, David scored off the far post to level things up.
A few weeks ago, we scored a fluke at Bracknell and today we were the victims to an identical goal, which proved to be Yateley's winner.
Nothing Myles could have done as it looped over him into the net.
Man of the Match George went up front towards the end but we could not find a way through.
Taylor and Joe came on, again to no avail but overall the lads played much better.
That said, we need to learn to move away from getting involved with off the ball stuff.
The ref will be watching the match so there is no point in trying to complain about things that he will never see.
Playing football will always be done with the feet with results being what we look for.
So away next week lads and a return to winning ways.
If results are as I expect, there will be three teams on 16 points at the top.
So as Jeff said, all to play for.
Thank you parents, Ells and James too for running the line.
