During the summer, e-mails began to come in from lads interested in playing with us for the new season. As we now say farewell to Daniel, Oisin and Nathan, we needed some replacements as some of the lads now have "outside interests".

So instead of a training session, we spent a Thursday evening at Reeves home pitch, with six new players getting a run out at some point during the match. After going a goal down, we eventually ran out easy winners and even Myles got on the scoresheet, taking a penalty for us. And a good one it was too.

Then on the Saturday, we went across to Ascot racecourse, this time with five trialists, who would all sign up after this match. We cruised into a 3-0 lead inside 10 minutes whch was fantastic to watch, with some of the new lads linking up well. Another goal in the second half gave us a cushion before tired legs and lack of summer activity told. Fitness levels being low allowed Ascot back in for 3 goals but we deserved a win if only for our first half performance. With the FA and Sky Sports being present, a "respectful match" was enjoyed by all.
