This turned out to be a fantastic match to watch, with all 13 lads playing some really excellent football, especially in the second half.
We began slowly, conceding corners but the defence held firm for our sixth clean sheet of the season.
Knowing that we "only" have to win our remaining matches does not make it any easier for the coach on the touchline.
Deep inside I can feel myself kicking every ball for the lads.
That said there was no need, as having warned the boys they would not repeat the 9-0 scoreline earlier in the season, they eventually outplayed Burghfield at various times.
The first half remained goal-less, and then with a couple of small "tweaks" we finally found the net.
First, a left foot floated free kick to the far post fooled the defence and the 'keeper didn't collect, allowing Alex S to register his second goal since joining us.
Then Ben W, having been fouled, got up to score from the penalty spot and soon after slotted home from close range to take his tally to 8.
It has to be said, most of the damage was done by Alex B, having changed flanks at the break, tore through the opponents time and time again on the left to earn the Man of the Match award.
As mentioned earlier, our defence kept a clean sheet so the goal difference is still the best in the league.
We now have some Challenge League matches to play before the big one.
March 21st, at East Park Farm, all we need to do is win.....all welcome to come and support and encourage.
Go for it lads, we can do this!!
