Another hard match was expected after our 3-2 win earlier in the season.
We were not incorrect in thinking this.
Most of the possession was probably enjoyed by our opponents but the ball seemed to be out of play more than in.
Though we did seem to create more chances on goal.
We looked most threatening when Man of the Match Oli broke from midfield or David turned the Kestrels right back inside out.
During the first half it was David who seized on a loose ball at the far post, only to drill the shot wide of the goal.
He produced a couple of superb crosses from the left only to see the ball flash across the area and no one managed to get a touch to knock it in.
As the game wore on it became clear we just needed a flash of inspiration from somewhere and changes were made as we tried to find a goal.
Probably the closest we came was from Oli, who on one of his regular forays forward beat the 'keeper, only to see his shot rebound off the post and no-one followed up.
Wiggie, Fozzie, Taylor, Alex all tried hard but it was not to be.
Nathan had a great shot from the edge of the box late on, only to see the 'keeper make a fantastic save to push the ball round the post.
As I write, we do not know if we are still top.
However, another clean sheet here will do no harm and shows our strong defence can hold up as Myles was never really troubled by Kestrels.
If we can score but keep clean sheets in our next two matches it will be testament to how strong this team is.
