After last seasons bad 2-1 reverse against our old local rivals, we asked for a major improvement.
Not even I expected as rapid a response as the one we got on Reeves bobbly pitch which is never easy to play on.
However, having been boosted by the surprise news of hitting the top last week I expected a win to keep us there.
We won the ball straight after Reeves kicked off and Alex B made an excellent run down the left before putting a cross in for Wiggie to finish from close range.
This was probably the quickest goal we have ever scored and settled us nicely for a good result.
Some lovely crossfield passing was stretching the opposition and every time David, Ben and Alex crossed AJ looked like scoring.
Sure enough he popped 2 in, before Oisin ran onto a loose ball and scored with a neat finish one on one with the 'keeper and Ross stepped up from defence for a header off a deflected AJ corner.
A five goal lead at half time was comfortable but then everyone wants to get on the scoresheet.
Sometimes our midfield get caught upfield so a small change bringing on Greg and playing him deep in front of Ross, Kurt and Man of the Match Ells ensured a clean sheet was kept, bearing in mind we have the meanest defence in our division and come the end of the season it could be important.
AJ scored another, making a hat-trick, to become the the fourth lad to do so within the squad and the second in consecutive games.
Having put on Greg to sit deep, we did not expect to see him push up but Ben covered as he went up for a corner.
AJ's corner missed all including Ross' jumping at the far post but Greg sneaked in behind for a close range volley that no one would have stopped.
We have tough games to come and now we have momentum must keep it going and maintain our good discipline.
