The final game of a brilliant season began and ended well,
with a dodgy middle section.
Having gone one up through early pressure,
we then conceded twice just before the half time whistle and then two unstoppable shots afterwards.
Charlie's 25 yard lob over the 'keeper was a result of an accurate clearance from Ross which should have given us a solid platform to build on.
A silly free kick given away near the touchline was floated over Nick's head then we failed to clear a corner and were 2-1 down at the break.
The two goals Whitegrove were excellent shots from long distance but if our challenges had been stronger they would not have got near the ball.
Then we began to play again and had our opponents rocking.
Charlie nipped in with his second of the game and then a rare occurence,
which next season really ought to become a feature of our game.
Man of the Match Ross moved up for a corner and scored with a header into the corner of the goal.
Usually known for clearing in defence,
Ross showed we have another outlet for a goal and scoring with a headed goal has been rare over the years.
We will have to work on this area.
We kept pressing for a fourth but it wasn't to be.
Now we look forward to the summer tournaments,
possibilities for success in one of these which would round off an enjoyable season.
Well done lads, stick together and build for September.
