Having drawn away against this team earlier in the season we had expectations of a victory this time. We won so many corners on that day it was untrue.

So off we went against the breeze in the first half but didn't seem to get going until the second period. Burghfield seemed to have more possession but didn't really threaten Myles' goal seriously. Taylor and Ell worked well up front, both playing well off each other's knock on's. Jono had quiet first half but seemed to step up with the whole team later on. Oli had an excellent match in front of the defence, winning Man of the Match for his efforts.

We were a little off the pace and conceded a goal because we did not close down a good pass and move style goal. If the challenges went in earlier we may not have gone a goal down. However, as we tried to claw back a goal Ell's persistence paid off just before half time. He chased a loose ball from a superb Daniel cross near the 6 yard line. He knocked the ball into the goal by not giving up and it paid off.

That came right on half time and then we stepped up a gear from the restart. Charlie came on and straight away won the ball and panicked the Burghfield side. All of a sudden we had the advantage and began wave after wave of attack. Jono, Oli, Charlie and Fozzie all had shots on goal but none accurate enough. We kept going, attacking constantly but the winner would not come.

However, we have shown again that we can compete against teams but just need to kill them off.
