Under 15s - Match Report 16/02/2008
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Yateley Junior Tigers
Result: Won 4 - 1

After a close shave last week we were hoping for some improvement this time. We could ill afford a bad result against one of the lower sides in the division.

We came out of the blocks like a train, Charlie found himself one on one with the 'keeper and slotted home. For 20 minutes we kept up the tempo, winning the ball all over the park. Nick and Oli especially collecting the ball and playing it forward for Ell and Charlie to run onto. Nick had two good chances to score, nipping up from midfield and getting into great positions in the area. As it turned out, we should have scored more than 1 before half-time and we paid the price when a free kick floated over our defence and past Myles for Yateley's equaliser. The proverbial sucker punch just before the break, not in the script.

We began the second period slowly, Taylor and Ell trying hard to latch on to the through balls. But David, Kurt and Ben defended solidly and we began to impose ourselves again. Eventually, Charlie's strength and persistence paid off. He completed his hat-trick and could have had more. Maybe he is the solution to our scoring problems we have had....?

Ell added a fourth and might have had more. Nick was through on goal but couldn't quite score. Alex, Nathan and Chris made the flanks their own, Jono made some excellent challenges and Oli earned Man of the Match in midfield.

Overall, a much better performance than last week and a result that shows it. An excellent performance also by the referee, who took no nonsense! Many thanks for your assistance Jeff.
