No sign of over indulgence during the festive period here. A couple of small changes
made some difference with the physical presence of Charlie up front causing Cavs
problems and Elliott working tirelessly with him. Goals have been at a premium and
though he may not be the quickest, Man of the Match Charlie's strength paid off with
two well taken goals. With Greg scoring in between, we led 1-0 then 2-1 at half
time. We should in truth have had a couple more before the break but our possession
again was far superior as the last time these two sides met. The narrow pitch made
for a really tight game and we conceded twice from corners.
Again, as previously, Cavs came out fighting after the break and scored twice to
lead for the first time. Ell went close when through on goal and Jono had the ball
in the net but the offside flag went up prior to his shot. As the game wore on, we
conceded an unlucky fourth via the inside of the post. Not to be outdone Charlie
scored his second at the whistle. We probably deserved a point from this one but we
showed that we can compete with strong teams and we have possibly found a new goal
source.
