Under 15s - Match Report 17/11/2007
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Burghfield B
Result: Draw 0 - 0

After the last couple of close games, a few discussions with the lads, we made a few slight changes for this one. Another even match was to be expected having looked at recent results.

Ross deputised really well as Captain, Jono moved back into midfield and Fozzie returned to partner Oli up front. For the first 20 minutes Hurst over ran Burghfield in midfield and were looking like dominating for the whole game. Ben, who was to be awarded Man of the Match, and Alex on the flanks, worked extremely hard going forward and helping out Kurt and David when we had to defend. Daniel kept coming deep, collecting the ball and moving it around with Greg and Jono as we seemed to have so much space. As half time neared, Nathan replaced Greg after he received a knock to his head. Charlie was strong, but Nick and Taylor were excellent up front, constantly pressurising the defenders and forcing mistakes.

If the result was to be decided on corners we would have won 15-2 I think. The second half was all one way traffic. Taylor was in the right position twice but couldn't finish. Ben had two shots closed down. Fozzie should have hit shots harder and Oli was so close in the last few minutes. Daniel had a shot deflected for another corner and Jono didn't stop causing Burghfield problems throughout. We lost count of chances in the end but we also must not forget how hard the defence worked with Myles and gave us a clean sheet. This is our first of the season which is a big step in the right direction.

If we can use the wings like this next week there is no reason why we can't win again. Come on lads, you can do it!!
