Under 15s - Match Report 20/10/2007
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Ascot United Rangers
Result: Won 10 - 3

Over the years we have seen results like this against us. Those on the touchline must have enjoyed it nearly as much as I did. Jeff, Mandy and Jane I think would agree that was probably the most relaxing game we have ever seen.

I thought it would have been a close match and when our first goal went in off an Ascot head I really believed the luck was ours too. It started evenly,we had our noses in front but then Ascot scored and we would reply immediately. An encouraging sign indeed. Fortunately, we were only to concede 2 before the break. The "one touch" training the lads don't like began to pay off as we moved the ball around menacingly and started to play as a team.

An incredible display of quality finishing from Oli, scoring my squads first ever hat-trick, along with a long range effort from Oisin and a cool close range shot by Jono, gave us a comfortable 6-2 half time lead. After the break we pulled further away and it was a joy to watch some of the play that the lads were creating. Ben, Greg, David and Fozzie all got on the scoresheet as we seemed to attack relentlessly. David, Elliot and Alex all went close and even Oli could have added to his tally.

Ascot added a third but by then I think the whole of this team were all up there trying to get on the scoresheet and it really didn't matter. On the whole, an excellent team effort and well worth the long wait. Deservedly, Oli won the Man of the Match but all over the pitch all the boys played important roles in this win. Our defence probably had their easiest 80 minutes ever but they will need to be on their toes next week.

You guys on the pitch had the easy job, kicking the ball. I had the hardest job remembering who scored to write this report! Here's to our best ever start to a season, let's not take our foot off the gas.........
