Under 15s - Match Report 29/09/2007
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Woodley Hammers Black
Result: Lost 3 - 7

Going into this game on the back of two league wins, and without a couple of "regulars", we didn't know what to expect against our old foes from the Woodley & Earley League. The game plan was to stop their runners. To some extent it worked, going in 2-0 down at half-time was probably a fair reflection. However, we were not first to the ball again. We need to sort this one out....

The second half continued the same way, though it was 5-0 before we began to play! Charlie came on as sub and virtually changed the game. Firstly, a cross from the touchline drifted in over the 'keeper for a fluke goal. Then, his tireless running and challenging began to worry the Hammers. After Nathan scored from a header into his own goal, Hammers obliged and evened it up with one for us too. Charlie was everywhere and pushed for a starting place next week for his work. Oli lobbed our third consolation goal to make things a bit respectable. But this was really a bad day at the office and we don't want this form in the league next week lads.

Man of the Match Charlie then nearly scored his second off a placed shot from David's corner but it was a touch too high. The lads need to take ownership, communicate more and be first to the ball much more and believe in themselves. Then we will be more competitive and not give away so much space in midfield.

We will concentrate on the league as they say.......
