Under 15s - Match Report 22/09/2007
Manager: Shane Wyatt
Opponents: Whitegrove Arrows
Result: Won 2 - 1

After last weeks first victory, it was important that the lads built on that first success. The lads again were up for this one, knowing their opponents had conceded 11 goals in two games was enough to get them going.

We started a little slower than Arrows, with defending being the order of the early minutes. Eventually the chances came to us though. After a couple of testing shots for their 'keeper to save, the ball fell to the edge of the area and at the feet of Daniel. Having scored two last week, I hoped he would carry on and he did not let me down. His shot was accurate and hard enough to fly straight in for us to lead. We managed to hold on to this until just before half time, competing well in a very even game. A bobbling low shot through a crowd of players eluded everyone to let Arrows level.

Introducing Jono's pace after the break seemed to make a difference and panic the opposition. Our defence was holding firm as the game continued in the same vein as the first half's even contest. Ross at the back, won Man of the Match with a solid performance between David and Kurt. These three are starting to develop an excellent understanding, which hopefully run throughout the coming months. Fozzie on the right had a good game, constantly threatening down the flank. However, on a rare foray into the middle, he somehow latched onto Nick's short pass after another good run from Jono, to score our winner.

We never had to defend as much as last week but it would be nice lads, if we could kill off teams. As the season moves on hopefully we can begin to do this. Even so, this now stands as my squads best ever start. Keep it up lads...
