This was a great opportunity to give a game to the lads who have recently joined the squad, but are unable to play in the league.

Having gained permission, Jake and the two Tom's had excellent games. Tom H in goal took home the weekly trophy for keeping the score down and for his superb distribution. Jake played really well as an attacking midfielder. Tom S also was in midfield and nearly got on the scoresheet with a couple of good shots. All three boys will be a great asset at U14 next season and the upcoming tournaments.

Special mention to Darius, who is too old to play for us but trains every week and has improved immensely since coming to us. He ran out of steam but during his 15 minutes on the field at right back, hardly put a foot wrong and was excellent. The fact this was a friendly meant the result was meaningless but I learnt a lot from what I saw and we hope also the boys learnt a lot about themselves too.
