Having played Prospect earlier in the season and seeing what kind of team they were I thought this could be a close game. As it turned out it the deadlock was not broken until just before half time when Philip's persistence and willingness to chase an almost lost cause paid off. He ruffled two defenders and lobbed the 'keeper to give us a 1-0 lead at the break. It was a very even contest, both sides firing shots wide until Prospect stole a couple of goals and scored a great free kick to lead 3-1. We were still playing quite well and the lads heads did not go down. All of a sudden the ball was worked down the right wing and was stuck around the penalty area when it broke loose to Harrison who moved forward from his defensive role. A low left foot drive from the weekly trophy winner seemed to take hours to cross the line after hitting the inside of the post.
Just before that, Taylor and Adrian found themselves free and should have scored but credit to them for being in excellent positions in the box. After "H" had scored Prospect seemed lost. there was 3 minutes left and from their kick-off they twice failed to move the ball forward so the ref awarded Hurst a free kick on the centre. We played the ball forward and after a few short passes around the box the ball fell to Man of the Match Daniel, who controlled then shot from 18 yards for a well deserved equaliser and his first for the club.
I have to say that from somewhere has come a belief and spirit which saw us fight back.To come back like that is a credit to all the boys, including the 5 subs who all played a big part in a great result. Keep your eyes on that table boys, we are on the up!
