We witnessed another magnificent battle between two very committed teams.
We have history with Rotherfield and the Hurst players were very keen to reverse a previous defeat.
Our very own Fabio (Martin) opened up with a 2-3-1 formation.
On paper it looked a very strong team and very capable of victory.
Henry was in goal, Alex and Jasper guarding the rear,
Ollie, Joe and Josh patrolling the midfield and James, one of our top marksmen upfront.
In reserve we had Amber and Charlie both ready and willing to play their part.
The game started with some crunching tackles and for the first ten minutes we were treated to end to end football of real quality.
Rotherfield then began to edge it and despite some great goalkeeping by Henry we went into the break 2-0 down.
It was great to see Hurst start the second half with renewed vigour.
Fabio had rallied the troops and we were up for it once again.
This Hurst team doesn't know when its beaten; the attitude and belief they show is nothing short of inspirational.
The team was still driving forward at every opportunity and still battling hard, putting in some pretty fierce (but fair) challenges when it was needed.
Fabio had decreed that Rotherfield's no. 22 was to be policed by whoever was near him, the astute plan worked but our search for goals left us light at the back and Rotherfield picked up two more goals.
Henry got one back for Hurst with a sway of the hips and a fierce drive hit low and hard into the corner.
We had taken part in another great game, The Rotherfield manager commented on our teams persistence and desire, we were their hardest match so far.
Everyone played well and Amber was rightly deemed Player of the Day.
